Shesshoumaru is InuYashas older brother, but unlike his younger brother Shesshoumaru is full demon. He appears to be cold and emotionless, but still he saved the human child Rin, after she had tried to take care of him while he was injured. This was because he felt sad seeing the human child dead. And he activated the sword, with his ``loving`` soul, that is the only way to activate the sword. And eventhoug he does it descritely he sometimes ``looks after`` his brother.
His sword, given by his father, known as Tenseiga. Is forged from the fathers right fang. The twist with this sword is that different from InuYashas sword, Tetsusaiga, that can kill 100 demons in one swing, Tenseiga can save 100 souls in one swing. This Shesshoumaru efcourse finds worthless.
But the thing about these swords is that theire father who got these swords forged, assured that he put in a little twist of fate, that was that the brothers never could kill one another.
But eventhoug it takes a while, Shessoumaru gets a new sword forged. Using a fang from the fallen demon, Goshinki, that once managed to bite throug Tetsusaiga. The one he gets forge the sword is a twisted diciple of Totousai named Kaijinbou. The sword is gived the name: Toukijin. But eventhoug the sword contains a great amount of evil, Shesshoumaru is able to master the sword, now getting a chance to face his brother on equal terms.
